~ Tere Liye was born on May 21, 1979, he is the son of an ordinary farmer who grew up in the interior of Sumatra. Tere Liye's real name is Dervish. Tere Liye is just a pen name given to each of his works.

Tere Liye was the sixth of seven children. Tere Liye's childhood life was full of simplicity which has kept it simple until now. Tere Liye's figure does not look much style and remains humble in living her life.

Tere Liye attended elementary school at SD Negeri 2 Kikim Timur, South Sumatra. Then he continued his education at SMP Negeri 2 Kikim, South Sumatra. After that, his secondary education was at SMAN 9 Bandar Lampung. After graduating from high school, he continued his higher education at the University of Indonesia and studied at the Faculty of Economics.
